This time it’s gonna be a little different from my last texts. I wrote it during our stay at the camping in Los Coihues :)).

Our home the hostelito :))

„I walk into the water and feel the sharp stones under my feet. It’s always a bit hard to walk the 100m in and out of the lake. The water is warmer than I expected but definitely a refreshment on these hot days. The sun is already quite low in the sky, it is early evening – but it will certainly take another hour or two until it is completely gone. The already beautiful landscape is shining in golden yellow light and the sun gently warms my back.Despite this, or perhaps because of this, there are still a few people on the beach enjoying the last hours of the day.

In addition to the barking of dogs and the screeching of birds, which can be heard here day and night, I hear children and adults talking and laughing. Just a normal afternoon at the lake. The mountains are put in soft golden light and once again I think how beautiful a place can actually be.

The lake „Lago Guiterrez“ is surrounded by golden brown mountains. The peaks in the rear part of the lake are particularly striking. Difficult to describe, but the three stand out very strikingly, like individual towers.

Finally, the water is up to my waist. I dive into the water and start swimming. The water is cold and refreshing – exactly what I needed. I recap the past four weeks as I calmly swim out into the lake.

How many times have I walked by here, admiring the beauty of this place every single time. How often have I sat on the shore or bathed with the others in the small river that flows through our campsite. How often have I sat on the small island of the river – alone or with company – watched the stars, thought or wrote in my diary. How often have I cleaned toilets and showers, wiped up water and other sh*t, sorted garbage and talked to the others about the „toilets of the day“. The time here flew by so fast. We’ve only just really arrived. Weren’t we just sure that we wouldn’t be able to endure 4 weeks here? – everything seemed too chaotic and unorganized to us. Now we even stayed five days longer because we just fell in love with the place and the people. Even if I wouldn’t normally recommend it, but definitely a great tip for here: don’t question too much and just accept some things (e.g. waste separation and the places where some people take their sh*ts). Then you can easily find a home here. You would think in five weeks you have an incredible amount of time to get to know the area and to explore the area. You also have it if you wouldn’t want to chill at the campsite…

Surrounded by incredibly beautiful nature in Los Coihues, a small district of Bariloche with hardly any street lights and only dirt roads, which give the place a special charm, in a camp with a river, a small island, no fixed pitches, brightly painted buildings and wonderful People just makes you feel good. Then it’s enough for you after or before the 5-hour work to play games (preferably Truco), read, learn Spanish or simply chill with the others by the river drinking mate and in the evenings chilling and singing by the fire or dancing in the kitchen. In this short time I have met the most diverse and incredible people. We laughed a lot together and despite the fact that we differed a lot (not just age, origin and language), we lived together as a family in the Hostelito and suffered together while cleaning the toilets ;)). I will definitely not forget this time as I also had a lot of time to reflect myself.

The water is slowly getting deeper and the shore is already quite far away. I turn and slowly return to the beach. I take one last sip underwater and enjoy the cool refreshment before starting my way back onto the beach where my towel is hanging. I grab my stuff and walk the short dirt road back to the camp and think again how crazy it is that a place can become home in such a short amount of time and how quickly you can learn a language. It’s going to be damn hard to take our stuff tomorrow and move on. Nevertheless, I am already looking forward to our adventures with Cedric the tent;))

Today tomorrow is already yesterday… It was really hard. If not even harder than expected. I cried a lot and my desire to travel is still not completely back today. Which is definitely not surprising as we had an incredible time and met so many incredible people. You could definitely write a youth book about summer vacation at a camp about our time. Maybe I’ll actually do that at some point ;)).

Yesterday we traveled to El Bolsón, where we took enough time today to process everything. El Bolsón is definitely very beautiful and worth seeing. A small hippie town in the valley and thus completely surrounded by high peaks. But tomorrow it’s time for us to travel on again in the hope of finding distraction and the desire to travel again on the way…
